Deadly Cuts in Cinema 8th October

  • "The funniest movie of the year"

โ€œDeadly Cuts is the funniest movie of the year and one of the best Irish comedies in decades. Charming, genuinely touching and not to mention hilarious. Filled with characters that will have cinema goers nudging their friends with โ€œthatโ€™s youโ€, it's tremendous fun. Writer/director Rachel Carey has given us a funny, feminist and uniquely Irish comedy that is destined for a cult following. With rumours swirling we may see Deadly Cuts make the jump to TV. I am โ€œdyeingโ€ to see more from the ladies of Piglinstown.โ€

  • Brash, bold and boisterous, Irish comedy Deadly Cuts is a cut above the competition

Perfectly formed, 90-minute comedies are hard to come by these days. Brash, bold and boisterous, Deadly Cuts is a welcome addition to the genre.

The assured feature debut of writer-director Rachel Carey, Deadly Cuts is slickly edited, zipping along with so many zingy one-liners it's hard to keep, and features some outrageously camp performances that add to the infectious joy this film emanates.

  • 'Deadly Cuts' is silly, good fun with its cast of sassy ladies.

Four Irish women become local heroes.

Director-writer Rachel Carey impresses with her cheeky script, full of witty comebacks and giddy remarks. The camaraderie between the young women working in the salon and the older ones coming to get their hair done is lovely to see. โ€˜Deadly Cutsโ€™ is charming, and not afraid of a little female toilet humour either.

  • A cut above the rest

โ€œAesthetically itโ€™s Ken Loach meets Strictly Come Dancing - which works a treat.โ€

  • Live and let dye

"Alongside the dirty jokes, there are some really clever lines. It has that Derry Girls confidence of being utterly place-specific without pandering to other audiences.โ€
